How do I clean the inside of my fridge?
Switch off and unplug the unit first. Clean the interior with warm water and a mild detergent, then dry thoroughly. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents or bleach as these can damage the interior surfaces and door gaskets. Refer to your user manual for further details.
How do I dispose of my old fridge?
Fridges and freezers must not be put in general waste as they contain refrigerants and insulation that need specialist recycling. Use your local authority recycling service or a licensed waste carrier. In many countries, retailers offer take-back schemes when a new unit is delivered.
How do I look after the door gasket?
Wipe the gasket regularly with warm soapy water and check it for splits or gaps. A damaged gasket lets warm air in, making the unit work harder and causing ice build-up. All Husky gaskets are pull-out, push-in replacements which can be fitted without an engineer.
How do I replace a light
All lights are replaceable. Revert to the user manual delivered with your unit for instructions
How long does my fridge take to reach temperature?
Allow 2 to 4 hours for the unit to reach its set temperature before loading. For best results, run the unit empty until it reaches temperature, then load it with pre-chilled product. Loading warm stock will extend the pull-down time considerably.
How long should my Husky fridge last?
With regular cleaning and proper ventilation, a well maintained unit will typically last for many years. The biggest factors in a long life are keeping the unit regularly maintained and serviced, keeping the condenser clean, the door gasket in good condition and giving the unit enough ventilation space. Switch the unit off when not in use for long periods.
How much does my fridge cost to run?
Husky offer some of the most energy efficient coolers and freezers in the market, including our specific ECO low energy range. Running costs depend on the model, ambient temperature and how often the door is opened. Each unit’s energy consumption (kWh per annum or per 24 hours) is shown on its energy label and specification sheet.
How much gap is needed around the fridge
This differs dependent on the unit. Please refer to the user manual
How often should I clean the condenser?
We recommend cleaning the condenser every 3 to 6 months, or more often in dusty environments or busy commercial settings. Use a soft brush or vacuum cleaner to remove dust and debris. A blocked condenser is the most common cause of poor cooling and higher running costs. Refer to your user manual for further details (note: on some models the condenser is hidden inside the carcass of your unit; for these models, no maintenance is required).
